News about Nina...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M...reachers

The band are currently working on their follow up to Lifeblood which is set to be released around April or May in 2007. It is said to be more rock-oriented than their previous album, with Wire claiming "it's sounding like The White Album played by Guns N' Roses - pure melodies mixed with rock 'n' roll" [4]. He also stated on Phil Jupitus' BBC 6 Radio show, that the band would like to record a duet for the album with Nina Persson, lead singer of The Cardigans. The album's title has been confirmed as 'Send Away The Tigers' [5]. On December 8, 2006, The Manics debuted two new songs during a performance at the Manchester Apollo. The two new songs are titled "I’m Just a Patsy" and "Autumn Song" [6]. Both of these songs will appear on the new album.

...and in the 'ask the band' session:

Hey Mags, been a while... I'm still heckling dave about this interview, you know the saying, laziness and procrastination go hand in hand....
I have just read with extreme delight that Manic Street Preachers have a duet with Nina on their new album, which means my two favourite bands in the world (well, one band and the singer from another) working together, so it's made me very, very happy! could you ask nina how this came about, and what input she had in the creative process, also was it done together or were her vocals mabye recorded in Sweden then forwarded to the band? Any info on this wonderful collabration would be a joy!
Thanks mags, i hope you all had a good christmas and new year!

Hi Steve,
Yes, I sung with the manics, on a song that's gonna be on their new record. I recorded the vocals in New York, and James came over to oversee my
work. It's a great song that works well as a duet, and MSP is one of my favourite bands, too, so I was really happy to be asked by them. I hope you'll enjoy the song!

The song was debuted on BBC radio 2 yesterday and its Great :D
You can hear it on listen again by going onto www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 its on Dermot O Leary's latest show 1hr 40 mins into it

Your love alone
Is not enough, Not enough, Not enough
When times get tough
They get tough, They get tough, They get tough

Free all your heroes if we're ghosts
If we're ghosts, If we're ghosts, If we're ghosts
They're always that love you most
Love you most, Love you most, Love you most

Your love alone
Is not enough, Not enough, Not enough
It's what you felt
It's What you said, What you said, What you said

You said the sky would fall on you
Fall on you, Fall on you, Fall on you
Through all the pain your eyes stayed blue
They stayed blue, Baby blue

But your love alone won't save the world
You'll know the secret of the universe
Despite it all you made it worse
It left you lonely, It left you cold

You stole the sun
Straight from my heart, From my heart, From my heart
With no excuses
Just fell apart, Fell apart, Fell apart

No you won't make a mess of me
Mess of me, Mess of me, Mess of me
Coz you're as blind as a man can be
Man can be, Man can be, Man can be

I could've seen for miles and miles
I could have made you feel alive
I could've placed us in exile
(I could've written all your lies)
I could have shown you
(I could have shown you)
How you cry

You love alone
Is not enough
You love alone
Is not enough

La la la la, la la la la
I could've shown you
Shown you how to cry

You love alone
Is not enough
You love alone
Is not enough
