Hope Sandoval (formerly of Mazzy Star) and Colm O'Coisóig (formerly My Bloody Valentine) return with their own little Chinese Democracy of sorts - the 8-year-in-the-making Through The Devil Softly is out on September 1st, previewed by the Blanchard EP on August 4th.

Ever get news that just whacks you in the face? Well here ya go. This is it. I still can't believe this. I honestly thought she died or something.

You can check out a song that's sure to appear on one of the releases here. Of course, unless you've been very silly, you've probably already been listening to it for almost a year now.

The High End of Low, Beatles remasters coming 09/09/09, two new Nina Nastasia records, four (say it aloud, four!!!!) new Rasputina records, new Innocence Mission ... and now this. 2009 rocks!

Quote:
As for Mazzy Star, Sandoval confirms her and her bandmate David Roback haven’t called it quits and they are still working on their anticipated fourth album. But she declines to give many specifics. “It’s true we’re still together,” she says. “We’re almost finished [with the record]. But I have no idea what that means.”

Not holding my breath ... but nice.

Remember Hope Sandoval And The Warm Inventions "Bavarian Fruit Bread". If it's anything like that I'm not too excited. I didn't find that album entertaining at all.

i saw them on that tour and besides being heckeled she was mad because people took her photo with a flash and the sound issues and she was going to stop the show and said that if she did you can get your money back........but she didn't but people went to get their money back anyway probably unsuccessfully.

I can take you're referring to the Paradise Rock Club, Boston, MA show on August 23, 2002? If this is anything to go by, it honestly sounds like one of the worst audiences in the history of rock music and no one involved deserves a refund.

I've been listening to it every second day for the past couple of months, so, yes, I'm quite familiar with it. And if you don't like it ... well that's just your-too-bad, because it's honestly the strongest record she's ever been involved with. Drop, Feeling of Gaze, Bavarian Fruit Bread and Down the Steps are 4 of the most beautiful songs ever made.

yeah that was the show....one of the problems with having the venue situated next to college.

this is the same venue that somebody punched moby in the face when he was standing outside.

When isn't Moby getting punched in the face?

Back to topic, you might like "Killing Smile" by Death In Vegas. Hope does the vocals. Great track.
