Soo.. hi. The introduction thread seems to be dead so I'll just blah blah blah here.

So, a bit about me. I currently live near San Francisco, CA USA. I've been a fan since "Lovefool" burst out. Own every obscure single and album they put out. Seen them twice live. The first time I nearly passed out for some reason. I think it was seeing Nina in a skintight camo tank top in Arizona. Never had vertigo like that at a show before.

The cardigans have been an integral part of my life for as long as I've known about them. I've listened and come back from the brink while suicidal, fallen asleep while drunk too may times to count, tried to woo females with them as background music, you name it.

I've introduced many people to them, trying to show them they are much more than the one-hit wonder they picture them as. I've never met another fan. I probably should have found this site a long time ago. I always thought I'd wind up with a girl that shared my musical taste but it didnt work out that way. It doesnt matter though to my surprise. My partner is wonderful even if she hates my taste in music ;p

My other favorite bands, besides the constant gabber, drum'n'bass, and dubstep I listen to are:
Ivy,
Kostars,
Medicine,
Brookville,
Blondfire,
Cranes,
Curve,
Helium / Mary Timony
fiona apple,
Slowdive,
Tiger Trap,
etc

I am waiting for the next Cardigans album and to hopefully see them again if they ever come to America again.

Indeed it seems a bit sleepy around here except for you international fans. That brings me to my first question.. Why do you think the Cardigans enjoy such international appeal? How did you guys hear about the cardys in the first place? I'm interested in talking to anyone who wants to talk about the cardigans or other similar bands that I haven't heard of. Also interested in cardigans trivia ;p like, what are some of the songs about and things like that.

I tried using the "ask the band" feature but it seems to be broken like many of the links here. If I could ask a question it would be to the boys who love heavy metal. I think it's hilarious that they cover Black Sabbath and love it. I want to know what the darkest, most satanic bands they enjoy are. If someone can answer that I'd appreciate it, I want to check them out. I need some new music to listen to.

Hi everyone! It's great to finally meet fellow fans!
<3,
Ryan

welcome, Ryan!
I'm one regular fan here from the ol' USA. You might check out the "Cardifans" page on facebook, if you're on facebook. It's a little more active...

As far as new bands to check out... you might like Saint Etienne (I'd start with the "Good Humour" album and go from there.

Tiger Trap?? Haven't heard that name in a long while. Singer Rose Melberg has since played with the Softies and Gaze, and is currently touring with a band, I forget the name.

Tiger Trap though I think was her best output. The one show I saw in 1990? the drummer (a woman, Heather?) was all over the trap set - standing sitting kneeling - spastic, fun to watch.
