Anna Ternheim - A Friend At Last

after years of having you as a weight on my heart
we've had out last round
you words are weightless, they once weighed gold
and had me spellbound...

Focus – Sylvia
.....
I'll post some 80's playlist next time.

Wolflobo,
I opened up my father collection last night (he died a year ago) and found Focus III CD. "Sylvia"'s on it, isn't it. Adding flute on rock is awesome. I like the first song "Round Goes The Gossip"
and yes, post the 80's ... the era of synthpop and new wave

Now, listening to the best cover of "Love Song (the Cure)" by Anberlin

Yes it is from their 1973 Album Focus III. They were a Great Dutch band and Jan Akkerman (guitar player) keeps releasing real good music. Havent heard any recent stuff from T. Van Leer (keyboard, flute, yodeling, etc. etc.) although I'm sure he still recording music one way or another.

Enough said, here's my 80's playlist I just assembled

1. Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
2. Joy Division - Shadowplay
3. Bryan Ferry - Don't Stop The Dance
4. Gary Numan - Me! I Disconnect From You
5. Flying Lizzards - Hand 2 Take
6. Echo & The Bunnymen - Show Of Strength
7. Elton Montello - Jet Boy Jet Girl
8. Nina Hagen - Cosmo Shiva
9. Depeche Mode - Blasphemous Rumours
10. The Stranglers - The Raven
11. Klaus Nomi - Total Eclipse
12. New Order - Blue Monday
13. Ultavox - We Came To Dance
14. Simle Minds - Love Song (not the same as The Cure's Love Song)
15. The Cure - Just Like Heaven
16. Devo - Jerkin' Back 'N' Forth

Later! Until next time.

I've been listening to hardcore covers of Guns n Roses and Metallica, over and over and over again. I'm like that, I like to totally play a song out before I move on.

Throwing Muses - In A Doghouse (double cd)

it is some of the best music ever made IMO.

disc one has their 1986 debut album plus the follow up EP on it.
disc two has some raw demo tapes and remakes of old songs on it.

and the artwork for the album is wonderfull as well.

Wolflobo,
I got 2 more Focus CD, and many 70's rock and blues CD my father left. I haven't heard all of them. I found some I like such as Triumvirat, Babe Ruth or the Rapsberry. I just got known it was Eric Carmen's band

I'm off today, now listening to Dodgy - Good Enough
I only have 1 song of this band, but sure this song is very good ... groovy
