Franz Ferdinand - Jacqueline

it's always better on holiday!
always better on holiday!
that's why we only work when
we need the money ...

Some Tore Johansson produced rawk-out fun!

Joanna Newsom - Peach, Plum, Pear

this was unlike the story
it was written to be
I was riding its back
when it used to ride me

and we were galloping manic
to the mouth of the source
we were swallowing panic
in the face of its force...

I this song SO much.

Right now, I'm listening to Gran Turismo. Only with an altered tracklisting.

01. Starter
02. My Favourite Game
03. Erase/Rewind
04. Hanging Around
05. Do You Believe?
06. Marvel Hill
07. Explode
08. Paralyzed
09. Nil

I like that tracklisting better than the tracklisting on the album. And it's not that I don't like Junk Of The Hearts or Higher - they just kind of slow it down a bit.

@ Daniel: If you like Franz Ferdinand, you should check out a group called The Frames. They're similar... only less robotic. That's what I meant about it not being "rawk-out fun". It's too robotic, which has to do with the melodies more than Tore's production. And have you heard FF's new song yet? I mean... the new album isn't produced by Tore, yet it still has the same problems. It seems worse somehow. It sounds like "Michael", but it's worse, and more stiff.

Toodles.
ST.
PS: And yes... this is a forum, you can say what you want.

FF...
(should stand for Foo Fighters! They've been around longer and even included a cool FF tattoo in previous CD)
Now I gotta get a mirror and see if that damn FF is still on the back of my neck!
Anyway I'm listening to Times like these (acoustic)-Foo Fighters!

Emiliana Torrini - Nothing Brings Me Down

home alone and happy

all you ever wanted was love
but you never looked hard enough
it's never gonna give itself up

all you ever wanted to be
living in perfect symmetry
nothing is as down on this earth...

...as us

From X&Y ... I love how accessible and immediate this album is. Much love.

Patrick Wolf - The Libertine

The motorway won't take a horse
The wanderer has found a course to follow
The traveller unpacked his bags for the last time
The troubadour cut off his hand and now he wants mine
...
But I still have to go
I've got to go, so here i go
I'm going to run the risk of being free

we're on a bullet and we're headed straight into god, even he'd like to end it too / we take a pill, get ourselves a crucifix, buy our ticket, and we hope that heaven's true / I saw a cop beat a priest on the TV and they know they killed our heroes too.
we light a candle on an earth we made into hell and we pretend that we're in heaven / each time we do it we get the blind man's ticket and we know that nothing's true / I saw priest kill a cop on the TV and I know now they're our heroes too.
We were the world but now we've got no future.
We sing the "death song" kids because we got no future
We wanna be just like you.
Let's sing the death song, kids.

By... guess who...

EDIT: No point in denying you all the lyrics.
