I bought the new Richard Hawley album today, and am currently giving it it's second spin. Beautiful.
It is one of the most swoonsome, romantic, broken-hearted, love-filled things I have heard since, well, since his last record.
He's like Morrissey, Lee Hazlewood and Chris Issack rolled into one, but drunk and maudlin in Sheffield on a sunday night...
Do yourself a favour and check this guy out, read the amazon.co.uk customer reviews if you don't believe me... |

Gwen Stefani - Cool... *ST shoots himself in the head*
It's a great summer song though. Granted, released too late for the height of summer when it really could have been effective. Nice still. But I still hate her though. The Haijuku girls have been lost (what was all that about anyway?), she's still got that ditsy thing going on. |

Radiohead - I Want None of This
THEIR NEW TRACK!!! From the "HELP" warchild music charity record. The theme is that a lot of bands record one song in one day, the same day, and then put it up for download the next day. Great concept! All the songs were recorded two days ago.
Anyway... it's quite nice. If anyone's interested you can get it at: www.warchildmusic.com It's for a worthy cause. |

Sigur Rós - Gong
Their new album "Takk" takes my breath away.
It's a great contender for album of the year ... we'll see if The Cardigans can top it ;) It really is THAT good. |

Great album, I love it!
But somehow I liked more Sigur Rós' earlier materials... |
