Hey all!

Nina told me that I can not write "...anyone who asks about the tour again will get a smack in the head". She thinks it offensive and cruel.

I must say I really like it when it's all so true, the most artists when they finaly answer 3 questions a month would write: hi love, there's no tour plans yet, but go and buy another copy of my album and remember I love you!

Sounds a bit groovy...

Hi guys,

I was at the Luxembourg show last night and... i'm still so deep touched :s

I've been a fan for years and years, when i was younger (i was about 12-13 yeras old) and i loved the last album, i recovered the band from another "sight" that i really liked.

To see them was a kind of "child dream" you know and when i saw Nina ... :'( one of the best and stronger moments in my life...

I can't realise, everything went so rapidly, and the atmosphere of Gran Turismo songs were incredible, even if a lot of people seemed not to know them, except My Favourite Game... But Paralysed live was unbelievable.

The musicians were so good, pro, and they seemed to feel and enjoy their music like only few bands do...

It's beautiful to see a human band like them, i'm still "under the hit" lol, thank you to the Cardigans, thank you, thank you again...and thank you!

That´s cute. I felt the same way, when I saw them my first time live, back in 2003! But I was sad as well, because it was over way too fast. I´ve been waiting for this moment to come so long, and then...it was over.

Lucky you, you´ll see them again!

Charlie, I hope i'll see them again, but i just don't know where and when...no date in Belgium or something at the moment, so...

But you say to me "lucky you", as if you couldn't see them anymore, ???

Well yeah I was sad too, so beautiful but so fast, and yes it's over, and even if i feel "sad", i keep huge and incredible memories of it. And I know that next time won't be the same...but it would be cruel, make me feel sad every time i see them :-D
Kirikou, where were you, approximatively?

Personnaly I was just "in front of" Nina, at about two metters, and I got a few photographs if everyone wants ;-) ( fastlevrai@hotmail.com it's easier :-) )

Well i'm in a hury, i gotta go, and the same for me, sorry for my bad english, but i can't get to the internet when i want so when i've got 5 minutes i try to post in two or three forums :-)

And yes I think we can say it, long life in Cardigans :p

See you,

Yannick

Saw the band in Rotterdam. Nina looked beautiful (of course), and sang, well, beautifully (for want of a better word). Band excellent too, and seemed to enjoy rocking out. Great set list - pretty much LGBD plus SEG, together with Favourite Game and Erase/rewind. The crowd, unfortunately, were a little bit dead, with most people determined to stay in the one spot all night and not really move. Set was shortish, as the gig was part of a bigger festival. A lot of people were only there for the Cardigans. Had to queue in the rain outside and then didn't think the stupid bouncers were going to let us in at all, but eventually we did get in and of course it was worth it. Nina said Communication was the most important song for the band, if not their best.

By the way, what is wrong with the record-buying public that SEG (and LGBD) weren't huge hits??

ps - I stupidly didn't bring my camera with me, thinking they mightn't be allowed in, and thus missed the chance to take loads of great photos (and audio!) from only a few feet from the stage! goddamn!

I'm so glad I went to the Brussels gig last night, lovely night :) Long time fan, been looking at these forums for a long time as well but now I finally had the opportunity to go see the Cardigans live after missing out on the concerts the past few years. Lots of applause and the band seemed to enjoy playing as well, I know I enjoyed it ^^

Hey, so the Brussels show was good too, okay i couldn't go to it, i would have loved but it's kinda far from my town (Arlon, in the south, near (15 mins) to Luxembourg ).

And yes i forgot to tell you about Ninas voice, so clear and more beautiful than on the videos i could see before (Stockholm 2003 for example, but at this time she was a bit ill i think, whe wore a scarf)! Wonderful show, aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.....

PS: Kirikou, tu es du sud? Je suis d'Arlon, un des seuls pelés dans le train de 19h19 pour les Cardigans :-)

I saw the Rotterdam show. and yes, the public was pretty much dead, and Magnus did try to get sum response from the (either drunk or bored) public. Yes, the cardigans were part of a festival, but they were the biggest act at the festival, closing the 3 day festival. Luckily there were a few harcore fans in the public who enjoyed the fantastic setlist. Eventhough the soundtechies fucked up the sound, it had a funny atmosphere...like as if they played at a highschool party. People kept talking during the gig, but they've been doing that through every band who played at the festival, it's normal, but yeah...it could've been a little less during the slow songs. Then again, the dutch don't really give a shit about fame, so they treated every band the same that night. People came to enjoy music and to see friends at the same time, and not only to listen quietly to bands. it was 30 euros for a dayticket...so it was The Cardigans, Isobell Campbell, The Veils for instance in one night...hell, i'd be talking too...so many great bands!!...it was great night, and I finally saw one of my favourite bands of all time. Thank you so much guys!!!

Hey,
I keep reading in the Ask the Band section where Magnus and others talk about some "annoying" woman at one of the shows (I think in Belgium). And apparently even Magnus got pretty fed up with her and she was even thrown out.
What in the world was she doing that was that bad? I've been to many concerts and seen countless numbers of annoying (usually cause they're drunk) people, but only a couple times have I seen people hauled out of the venue.
Sorry, but curiosity is getting the best of me...
Anyone who was there that can fill in the details?

Actually I have the same question as Bac... I mean, I've seen some VERY annoying people at concerts and no one told them anything. So I just can't imagine what this woman was doing to annoy Magnus so much that he told her to shut up, and finally to be thrown out of the venue...

Details ! We want details ! :)

Doubt it was the same problem ;-) but the band stopped yesterday for a moment because a guy spent the first half hour of the gig (& in between songs) jumping on everyone to the point he was hitting them/pushing a young girl over.

He seemed to disappear after one of the guys in the crowd tried to stop him anyway. God knows what he was on.

The gig was brilliant, someone managed to take a pic of the Set list at the start so I was well up for the last song at the end ;-). Here's hoping the cardis will be back in the summer for some festivals.

Nothing so special in fact, Bac and Yann.
It was just this girl in the front row, just a meter from Nina, who never shut her mouth up. The usual things, Nina I love you..Nina look at me..Nina dedicate it to me..Nina here, Nina there. The fact is that she always interrupted Nina while she started saying something just before the song.
So, at first Nina said yes, yes.. then started to sigh (haaamm...), then to shhhhh! her and at the end she said ''hey, I'm trying to speak!''. She looked understandably annoyed. At that point Magnus came close to Nina and came out with a loud ''shut up!''. Then a security man, who had warned that girl many times to close her mouth before, came between the audience and throw her away, literally. A big applause from the audience but then Nina tell the security staff off that ok, she was very annoying, but violence was not necessary at all.
And she was totally right, IMO.

Wow...
well, that would get pretty irritating, especially if they're right in front of you!
I think, as I recall, there was a similar situation at a show here in the U.S. once where some guy wouldn't stop taking pictures of Nina every 10 seconds. And once again, I think Magnus said something and he stopped.

I feel sorry for Nina and the girl, but for different reasons. Was this girl drunk or just strange?

Oh, was THAT why Peter told him off? I was wondering what happened. I heard Peter say "What are you doing?" to someone, and then he was saying something to someone in the crowd away from his mike and he looks quite annoyed. I suspected it was someone starting fights.

Well I imagine peter was actually frowning at the wrong guy, the guy who reacted eventually and wanted the crazy man to stop being an idiot, and to enjoy the concert.

I was quite in the middle / close to it so I only really clicked that the band had stopped a little while after. I'm glad that was the end of it because it really was making the concert less enjoyable. There didn't seem to be much security at all compared to most of the gigs I go to :\
