Shit.
I was supporting Ukraine (for the worst defeat).

I think no one would notice it if Carlitos Tevez (Argentina) and Anthony Kiedis (RHCP) exchanged their roles... at most the former will need a long wig

laaran, I've heard Brittany is very beautiful too but it's quite different to watching a great game of football...

Nakamura looked good but in the end the Japanese just huffed and puffed against Australia and I can't imagine it'll be any easier against Brazil or Croatia.

Yeh that is very true but Hiddink won the game for them? he is a very good coach. But hey! Japan - Croatia tomorrow! another game lets see how he plays! i'm looking forward to the 22nd Japan-Brazil to see Naka against Ronaldinho.. in confederations cup last time Naka got man of the match so theres hope but i'd be surprised if they went through now. Argentina looked good but my bet on Mexico certainly aint!

What happened to the Czechs? Hats off to Ghana. And to the Ivory Coast even though they've been knocked out - at least they'll face a demoralised Serbia for their farewell match. Will the goals go to Argentina's head? I can't believe I missed that match...

And I wonder if we've seen Zidane's last match last night - substituted and suspended for the next match they have to win - what a way to end for one of the game's greats. The old men of France (average team age 30,8) couldn't cope with the hyperactive Koreans (and their amazing fans who never gave up).

that france vs south korea match was great, but the least boring one was usa vs italia!
i can't wait unitl tomorrow, when we'll finally see some results about who's gonna keep on playing!

Being an English chap with a Swedish girlfriend might be a little "tricky" tomorrow in the best of circumstances, right?
Now add to that the fact that I shall be watching the match on the big screen in the community hall of the main Swedish Church here in London, (surrounded by a sea of blue and yellow, and people who's names end in -son, -berg, and -gren), and you're probably starting to get the picture!

Still, 2-1 to England, so I'll be singing loudest come the full time whistle.

Well, maybe I'll be humming under my breath or idly whistling a cheery tune instead ...;-)

And even if we don't win for the first time in nearly 40 years, I can take consolation in the lovely Swedish hotdogs on sale!

î know what you mean! no matter how england or sweden play on tuesday, one of the two is then kicking vs. germany. meaning one of my three favourite teams is gonna be kicked out by another of these three. that sucks.
i'll try and play it cool, let destiny decide ;-)

If England win the competition i'm gonna emigrate to outer Mongolia cos us Scots will not hear the end of it.. they're still talking about 66.. blaa blaa blaa .. hope Germany or Argentina pap them on penalties.

Don't worry, I'm sure Scotland will do brilliantly...oh, ooops, sorry, my mistake!

Anyway, last night. That was fun, eh? Would have preferred a win, but we played far too shite for that in the second half, and Sweden almost derserved a win. Still, as far as my girlfriend's concerned, a draw is the best possible result I suppose, right?
And the BBC were there at the Swedish Church filming the proceedings. Though I don't think I'll be famous just yet, the camera-men were too easily distracted by the lovely Swedish ladies!

Well well, England and Sweden draw again and I thought for a moment (well, the first half) that England might actually escape their 38-year curse of the Swedes - but in the end they must have been happy with 2-2. I wonder if England will eventually wake up a little - there's little sign of the potential they're supposed to have, except for Joe Cole last night, and now Owen's out again. Sweden will need to get it together too against a Germany with momentum.

Don't worry Martin about England winning the thing - there are several other much superior teams out there. Argentina and Spain are looking very good, including being able to afford top class substitutes like Messi, Tevez or Aimar, or Fabregas or Raul. England's hopes rest with a fit Rooney and there's nothing on the bench.

Yeah i couldnt agree more England are weakened now with Owen's injury and Svens decision to only take 4 strikers (2 injured, one only with a conditional driving license and the other Peter Crouch) is looking pretty poor.. Argentina obviously look good theyre squad is unbelievable but why no Javier Zanetti?!.. wouldnt rule out Germany or Brazil and Mexico as outsiders.

Let's support Spain.
Final : Spain against Germany.
German players were rather violent in the 80s, I hope they will destroy the Spanish team.
Let's hope : 5 broken Spanish players at the end. I don't care for the score. Of course, German players will be punished, and probably Germany will lose, but just to see some broken Spanish players. Aim the head of the Spanish players. This is what they did in South America.

statistics say germany is one of the fairest teams so far. so no hope for violent action. leave that to the english..

OK.
Then final : England - Spain.
I take also Argentina - Spain
or Brazil - Spain.

As long as they destroy the head of some Spanish players.

Argentina are such a complete team... drool... Of course they didn't manage to score a goal but that's partly because Holland were well organised and neither team was too bothered about wanting to play Portugal or Mexico, both good teams.

Spain also looking good but if all goes according to plan, they'll have to beat Brazil in the quarter-finals.

After watching Argentina again, I've decided England have no chance. Rooney can be great but Argentina have 3 or 4 like him, plus solid defensive players too, they shut down the other team, win balls, short quick passes, team spirit, every one of them is technically gifted.

Maybe Martin, maybe.. but please, not the "Van the Man" of Argentina-Holland! He was a marble cat, as we use to say here..
Anyway, I prefer Torres! ;)
