If you just watched any Ukrainian TV channel or read some speaches of Ukrainian politics you would be doubting in such thought, because down here our politics like to remember to people that we are also Europeans and this gives a chance for a better future. People stacked in politics in Ukraine like feeling theirselves real cultural Europeans. It enoys in fact, because in real they are just stupid and dirty Ukrainians, who cheets everyone around himself!

Or by the way, didn't I tell you that Swizerland hates Ukraine!

Well I know that of course, i just worded it wrongly :) What do Finland and England have in common? Infact, what does England have in common with anyone (besides the high teen pregnancy rate and binge drinking)?

uhm, bad beer, awful food, ugly head of states, in both countries terrible music always tops the lists, I donīt know, something..

Ugly heads of state - Correct.

I know what you mean about those crisps too. I cant even say the word crisps actually...its a mouthfull for me! You literally get more air than you do food though.

-amy, move countries. I grew up in South America and I didn't manage to live all that long in England, now live in France, with nice people like laaran... heh heh.

Language clarification: Brits call them crisps because 1. they are crisp/crunchy/brittle and 2. British chips (fries/frites/pommes) are not crisp or crunchy and they're chips of potato.

Partially disagree about the beer: there are some excellent English beers, it's just that they don't survive the big brewers. Had a Fuller's 1845 last week, it was great, and I don't think it's just because of nostalgia.

Carrie-anne, there are plenty of dirty cheating European politicians - the Ukrainians are welcome to join them...!

What do Europeans think of Canada?

Canada? Aren't they the ones who get upset if confused for Americans (apart from the ones speaking uncomprehensible French)?
More seriously, I reckon most Europeans think Canada is what the US should try to be like. Canada is destined to be defined against its southern neighbour, for better and for worse. Canada would be an even more popular destination for European anglophone and francophone emmigrants if it had a bit more sun. Has impecable credentials for joining the European Union, apart from the small details of geography and NAFTA.

The world might start hating Canada now that the new Primie Minister is unabashedly pro-America and pro-Bush and seems to have strong conservative values as well

In Ukraine there are no bad or good attitude to Canada. It's too far away from here to hate it or to admire. In the beginning of 20th century many Ukrainians mooved to Canada so your attitude is closer to warm and nice realationships. There are many marple trees in Ukraine and in Kyiv especially. I suppose we like Canada, it must be really tough to live in such cold climate. We have tried that last winter and we don't want it to repeat.

Well, I'm European and I'm pretty lonely (if I take my crazy family out of account). I wouldn't generalize from my experience though. :)

Coolin
Brits have to be the loneliest of all. We have borders with people who hate us, yet we're "island monkeys" (transaltion from German). Where's the branch of friendship? Offered to Bush long time ago.

Proper Brits all moved to Wales when the Saxons arrived, so we're all a melange of Roman & whoever else they conquered, enslaved and brought along as serfs. So there. That's cultural loneliness, people.

(although I'm a celt).
