Emi, if you know you're going to picked up in a Ferrari, you might want to put on cool shades or something - not all cars are the same. And the Ferrari driver might object if you say his car is "just a car".
Similar thing for the various footballs - you can't always call them the same thing. Although association football does tend to dominate the word "football" because it is the one that uses feet the most...

I'm far away from knowing about football... But... Are the rules on suckar the same of european so called football? If not mea culpa.

But if yes... What do you need to distinguish then?
Formula 1, once a year, goes to United States. For what I know, thank god, still be called Formula One, not "motor race pit stop crash run ohio tennessee"!!

Soccer = association football = FIFA rules = calcio.
FIFA = federation international de football association.

In the US for example, you need different words to distinguish soccer/football from gridiron/american football. The local version of "football" takes priority over the international version. Same in Australia and also in Ireland.
