Hey Cardigans fans
Here are a translated interview with Nina.
Attention: the magazine is called Capricho and it's for young girls.
Are you excited to come to Brazil?
A lot. Shame we won't go to Rio. We're excited to eat Brazilian food and to tour Brazil.
An alcholic drink is what gives the name of the fest you're in as a band. Does it bother you? Have you ever tried Campari?
Yes. I like it a lot. I don't know Campari as industry, but I'd rather play in a fest called Campari than in one called Coca-Cola.
You have already covered Black Sabbath, and, at the same time, succeed with bubble-gum hits like Lovefool. How do you classify your sound?
It's not convenient to us to choose a style. We like bands from Pantera (masculine heavy metal) to The Sangri-Las (girl-vocal band from the 60's). Opposite are attracted also in music.
For some time, you decided not to play Lovefool. Was that fear of become one-hit wonder band?
I guess someway it was. Then we realized there was not much to do. This song created its own life. However, since it's our first time in Brazil, there is a big possibility of Lovefool being in the set-list.
Which songs are you listening to through your ipod nowadays?
I have been listening a lot the girls from The Pipettes.
There is a recent Cardigans video in which we can see a golden tooth when there is a close at your face. Is it for real?
It's true (laughs). In 95, 96, everyone in the band decided to get tatoos and then I thought I needed to do something different.
Will you bring cardigans in your baggage?
I don't think so (laughs). I will bring bikinis.
-x-
That's it. If some parts are strange, blame it on my translation or on the magazine. |
