Maybe I understand your feeling, Waves.
Perhaps the eyes look scary because Nina tells lots of things with just one expression. She's got lots of stuff in her head :)

There is this myth going around that Nina has one brown eye and one blue eye but that she wears lenses to mask it. Hmmm... I haven't been able to confirm it in any way.

in the low light, her eyes looks so dark. i can't see them. maybe that's what waves meant.

I totally know what you mean. I've been watching the video for "Don't blame your daughter (Diamonds)" on YouTube recently, and Nina seems as though she can see through you. It's chilling.

Especially in the video of 'For What It's Worth'. It bothers me to look into her eyes.
I got the same feeling at the Cardigans concert.
I like the eye-contact but Nina's eyes make me feel strange.
