Hmm... the "puppet show" is technically indeed a puppet show, but it's certainly not aimed at kids, it's a satirical and political show, called "Les guignols de l'info", which is a very popular program in France, inspired by "Spitting image" which was created in the UK in the 80's.
The show has been going on for about 15 years, it's part of a long talk-show and many reknowned bands have played just before or after this show. Not sure the Strokes did it but it's not totally unlikely, as nearly every major band played there (Nirvana, Blur, Oasis, Radiohead, just to quote a few...) And the Cardigans already did this show in '96. (although they played at the end of the show, about 20 minutes after the puppets :) ) |
