Hi!
I'm here to have a genuine friendly (FRIENDLY!!) laugh about a message somewhere here in the forum, made by a photographer who wants to have a picture with Nina/the band.

He started his message saying "Dear Nina Peterson..." :D

That gives instantly another prize to our Cardigans! The band with the most Spinal-tapesque moments of the year!!!

Do you remember?

- They were at that french tv program were they played after a PUPPET SHOW!

-And now Nina became Miss Peterson, haha!
It's funny like Spinal Pap, or dobly sound :)

Strokes will never achieve that!! I'm so proud of you Cardigans.

Hmm... the "puppet show" is technically indeed a puppet show, but it's certainly not aimed at kids, it's a satirical and political show, called "Les guignols de l'info", which is a very popular program in France, inspired by "Spitting image" which was created in the UK in the 80's.

The show has been going on for about 15 years, it's part of a long talk-show and many reknowned bands have played just before or after this show. Not sure the Strokes did it but it's not totally unlikely, as nearly every major band played there (Nirvana, Blur, Oasis, Radiohead, just to quote a few...) And the Cardigans already did this show in '96. (although they played at the end of the show, about 20 minutes after the puppets :) )

Just made up-heard, Postatomic :P

By the way... Today whatever I write seems to be not understood by people here...

For some of you.. I was speaking about similitude between Cardigans and Spinal Tap! That's it!

Strokes did not achieve the beauty of being a european pretty and healthy band, which competes happily with Spinal Tap for their "funny moments" !! Nothing about going to play or not to a french tv program...

But if you didn't see (maybe?) Spinal Tap (a film), well, you can't get me here...

:)

I saw Spinal Tap and LOVED it. But fortunately the Cardigans are not going through the same decline as Spinal Tap at the end of the movie !

you forget mettalica, or prince, or any great band.. this is certainly the best show-tv in france to do.. the most popular & rock'n'roll.. these puppets as say yann are not for children, most politic vitriol than anthing else.

I still thinking "who said anything about HOW the muppet show is?" I just said it's a muppet show and make me thinking about Spinal Tap moments :)

Metallica, Europe, Whitesnake...! Lots of bands pure tapesque.. But probably they take so seriously themselves to don't realise they are funny...

So, Cardigans are still winning the funny prize.
