From my endless series "Mansun against crappy bands", episode number 345, here is my favourite video. Dated 1998, if I'm not wrong.

It shows what happens to lots of bands, so easily...

Well, sorry, but...
Once again, after been watching the video suggested above by Kv2.0, I feel so happy to find-see-hear-and taste a big big difference between average singers like this one and our Nina!
Probably nice voice... ok, but.. slightly annoying interpretation, with pitches, and stuff to show off...

And difference in songs also! Cardigans have more fantasy and taste, even in their most boring song (which one? Uhm..!) they are less "boring" than this.

Thousand percent sure about it.
What do you think?

I've seen him live, he bored me. But I can't call myself one of his fans. Though I think that the song for the lovers is an outstanding piece of music.

1st of november in Cologne. I could ask my friends for guestlist.

I like this one: Siddharta - My Dice, I think it's amazing. Too bad I can't show it in better quality.

Original version sounds even better but you probably won't understand it. :)

So sorry Kosinus, but...
It's the "My Dice - Siddharta" song and video a joke??

Gosh, this is the perfect example of bands that I think should just dive into another more honest job!! Baywatchers? mobile phone fixers!? veg sellers... !!

It's terrible, how they consider things and themselves so seriously.
And the music, sorry, it's just aaaaaaa-rgh-wful :) The double speed part of the song before the end it's sooooooooooooooooo Spinal Taaaaaaappish!!!!

I truly suggest you to skip this band (not much for the videos, maybe, but for the music!) and go for Faith No More, or just Mike Patton, recently.

Please, please! Don't hate me or think bad...
If you want, just think about the beauty of this: we both agree on Cardigans, hehehehehehehehe ^_^

Ah, sorry.. Sorry if I'm being so bad with people today, but, erhm... I've create this thread so, for once, let me be bad here :)

How can I feel ok and calm when I see people loving "song for two lovers" by Richard Ashcroft, when I know the existence of an earlier song by (erhm...) MANSUN, titled "soundtrack for two lovers", totally ripped off for the idea by the slim guy from Wigan??

Boh, bah... this world :)

Hey,I like Siddharta!!! :) :) There's something in a melody..
I know of them,since some months now,and I really like their song Plastika,and this one,you posted,too.
But,I prefer 'original' version,in Slovenian.I understand why they did them in English too,but your language is nice, who wants to understand, should try a bit ;)
Here,Plastika (Hum,Cupids on nazi motorbikes :) :) )

Sorry to hear you had a 'bad' day.. And expressing your opinion doesn't mean you're bad to someone (I'm sure Kosinus is ok,for you not liking Siddharta )
About Richard Ashcroft,may I add something? It's "Song For THE Lovers". If that's a cover,I really didn't know,thanks,now I do
But I doubt..Did you hear the song from Richard A.?
I simply love it

Yeah!
I've heard Richard Ashcroft song, it's ok, nothing particularly special... Better the video, even with the silly ending :)

Mansun's song were titled almost the same, I didn't say Ashcroft did the cover of it.
He just took the inspiration.. And got top of the charts, while Mansun were almost forgotten by medias..

That's life... (that's liiiiiife...!)

emi, i understand how you feel. you think mansun deserve more praise for their idea and that richard ashcroft just copied it. but the thing is, ashcroft is not responsible for mansun not being successful, and maybe him getting the inspiration from them might actually heklp to get people into mansun via listening to richard ashcroft. just like us now, discussing mansun, but we started with ashcroft. and don't you think it's good that artists 'thank' bands that influenced them with using them as inspiration?

Well, it's not a joke. I admit they sound strange [in English] but that's just because the song was originally made in Slovenian and then translated into English. Of course the music and melody remained the same and lyrics were adapted to them in order to sound like original version. Maybe that's not the best way to do international version of the record but that's how they did it. I really recommend you to watch the original which I also posted.

Thier music is ok, perhaps it doesn't go into the ear immediately but that doesn't mean it's lame, right? And you definitely mustn't judge a band by one song. So here are others:
Plastika (already posted by Posthuman, thank you), btw it was shot in Trieste
T.H.O.R.
Napoj
Rave
Samo edini
B Mashina

Anyway, I only wanted to post a nice video (especially in visual sense). I believe this thread is meant to do that or am I missing something? ;)
No hard feelings :)

Posthuman, I'm glad you like them. You have to see this hilarious parody on English version of Plastika! Emi, you should see it too, to understand my point better.

yes,it's funny, but not totally fair, their english is not bad.Ok,maybe translation sounds 'funny',but I think it's like that with every song you try to 'convert' into other language..

I listened (and watched) those songs you posted.I must admit I really like them. That video with little girl ( Rave?) I like better. And singer looks very much on my ex boyfriend mmmm...
I like how they mix your traditional/national melody with the new sound (let's call it rock)..and especially when they sing in Slovenian language.

Good. I hope Emilianino won't be mad
if I suggest we should use this thread for "promoting" some songs we like,or videos.I think this is the best way to introduce other good bands/songs/videos to others.Better than just saying "you should listen to it".
What do you think?

Totally right!!

So sorry, grr...
OK, ok.
...The sad fact is that I've been playing in a dream rock band (the best in britain in the last few years so far, so sure about that, sigh) and now that the band it's over... I feel angry as an acid old unmarried auntie.

Anyway, yes, the thread is to show videos we all like :)
