Sparklehorse has a song with this chorus. "walking the cow". The song is "cow" from the Vivadixiessubmarine... Album of Sparklehorse. I think Nina took this idea from this 95´ song. But Nina i preffer your song!!!! Diego.

Walking the cow is a Daniel Johnston song. Nina recorded a cover.

I see "walking the cow" as walking around with a problem that you have to have with you all the time. Something big and uncomfortable and with a will of it's own that more or less governs your life.

well, it's very clear for me:

it's to make a reason just to have any. what am I doin here? I'm walking a cow.

cow doesn't need it, but who cares.

I think it's a song about being totaly confused and trying to explain things somehow. I love it.

I learned that "walking the cow" is some kind of nonsense-excuse. I heard -while I went to High School- that instead of saying "I didn't have time to do this and that" you could as well say "I had to walk the cow", because there's no point in doing it. it's just an excuse for not being able to do something which you in fact could have done.
One teacher even had a stuffed cow with a rope around its neck as a joke about the saying.

Hi! I remember you from Brazil!
"Walking the cow" is a cover of a song by Daniel Johnston (check him out!). I love his music and this song especially called me to do it. I don't think that the words "walking the cow" really mean anything in specific, I just fell for the whole context of the song - very naively existential; all the large questions raised like from a child and the chorus "I'm walking the cow" to me is just what I feel like I'm doing all the time.
Not a very clear answer, but all I can tell you about it.

Yours, Nina

^ And now, If I remember correctly, you even have a cow of your own right? Or at least a mounted head. Hihihi. Thank's for writing Nina. And thanks Astrid for the explanation of the phrase... I was way off there in my interpretation. ;-)
