Tell how you became a fan!!!

Tell to all world how you became a fan!!! Write your own story! For example, I start listening “The Cardigans” in 2000, when I was only 13. Many songs amaze me their deepness and unique philisophy…And what impressed you, people?
With respect, Lera from Russia!

Lovefool of course. Then I heard they covered Ironman and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. The rest is history.

i used to hate cardigans. everytime i got in a car with certain people it'd be cardigans and it was too happy and poppy. Then i got hooked on hanging around......and cuz they sorta broke up there was nothing new..so i started listening to the old stuff..and now i listen to the new!

Calm down, calm down... Can't believe some girls are so "acid" against other girls... Did you see Valeria's picture and she's prettier than you or what??!

My god... Leave her alone, or, again, just calm down!
And, anyway, on the other thread I can just write, for example, who I am and what I do.
On this one I can write how I got into Cardigans.
What's wrong with that??

Definately your reaction sounds like Valeria looks prettier than you
:PPPP

Or you're jealous because Magnus says things to her??

:PPPPPPPPPP

Really, be kind!

Oh, anyway, I was forgetting why I was writing here :)

Ok.I became a bigger Cardigans fan after I bought a second hand copy of Long Gone... , from a library in Uk.
I've been "opened" so much by that album (I had already Gran Turismo but lost it somewhere between the Continent and England...-and a tape with some old cardi-lovely songs) that I thought to check on the internet about the swedish magic five...

And just during those days Super Extra was due to be out in Uk! So, I bought it and loved it!! And I've found this fantastic website and forum! Imagine, last year there wasn't so much Laaran and all his crazy french truth-bollocks! (joking, my crazy three lines and full stop friend!)
There were not at least 20 people arguing about america and religions :)

It was great!! Still ok now... hahahaha

Anyway.. the real time I fell in love with Cardigans it has been on a finnish train. Communication was on my walkman and helped me a lot making me thinking to move to Helsinki, leaving England for good. All those trees and frozen lakes... And Nina singing so gently... eeeeh

Ok, that's it. (boooring, uhm?)
Ciao!

Oh I was missing this

Yeah..I'm pretty sure it's not about the picture (though Valeria reminds me of those magic fairies in some stories for kids,of course, the good ones ) ,I think it's more personal, but not for me to say anything.

Ok,how I fell in love with Cardigans?
I was still in elementary school, and I can remember the weather those days..Just like my emotions were..gloomy..and I heard "My favourite game" from TV,I remember, while I was writings something..That's when magic started.. I knew "Lovefool" ,and I loved it,but it didn't make me go and buy the cd.
I remember I couldn't stop repeating the melody from "My favourite game" over and over in my head.. I bought the cd two days later.
I totally fellt the whole album, and thought I will never ever hear somerthing closer to me,but I was young,I changed, and so did Cardigans.
We evolved together. And again,"Long gone.." came in period of my life when everything was getting on its place..My feelings were more mature and stable,as all songs on this album.
Once again,I felt some strange connection with my own emotionnal development and "them"
So..that's it.Pretty much.

Hearing, i think it must have been 'Sick & Tired' or 'Rise & Shine' and thinking that's different. Then a while later when i heard 'Lovefool'. I love Lovefool, what a wonderful song. A lot of the people i know think it's incredibly uncool for me to still like the song, but they don't know what they are talking about.

It's a shame, but most of the people i know are completely unaware that The Cardies are simply the finest band on the planet.

Calm down - no problem. I wasn't furious at all. Just saying what I thought -is it a problem? I didn't compare myself to Valeria, we are not at the beauty contest to be anxious about if she prettier or not. I don't care about Valeria's appearance. Anyone in this world has it's own unique beauty.
Secondly, I have no right to jealous Magnus to somebody because I am not his girlfriend or relative or somebody else connected, as anybody here. Magnus is free in saying things to Valeria. Dut people be kind and understanding to him too, it is not easy to answering dozens of questions every day.
In fact I am kind, but I also have bad days and sometimes kindness is spoiling life and doesn't help att all, unfortunately. :(
Specially for Valeria:

Hmm...I kinda hated Lovefool at first but then I was like playing it all day long back in 1998. Then I got Gran Turismo, which I think it's a fantastic album so are their previous albums. And in 2001 Long Gone Before Daylight hit me really hard! LGBD really got me into them, but like A LOT. Most of my life experiences are like so connected to an specific Cardigans song. And I just love that feeling.

I liked the Cardigans during Gran Turismo. But somehow I lost interest, though I always liked Nina. Then one night I saw "I can buy You" on TV, and I loved it very much. So I bought A Camp, became a huge Nina Persson Fan, relistened to Gran Turismo and noticed its beauty. That was about 2001 or 2002, I guess. One day, in febuary 2003 I listened to For What It´s worth, and this song really kicked me. So I bought Long gone, fell in love with it immediately, since them I admire them. Truely, they are my best friends and influence me every day.

It's ok, I know that there are Slavs here and don't mind if these words would be read or translated by other people. I just wanted that these words meant something special to Valeria.

I agree with that bit about The Cardigans being connected to parts of your life. It's the same with me.

There are times when specific things have happened, that a Cardigans moment is also involved. e.g. The first day i picked up the bass ever, to try and learn to play it, was the first time i heard 'Lovefool' on the radio, and i loved that song instantly.

Staying over at an ex-girlfriends who was at Uni, the first time was that weekend, that Gran Turismo was released, and i obviously hadn't heard it, yet she'd just bought it. That weekend we spent all morning just lyeing in bed listening to that album on repeat - in particular 'Explode' & 'Erase & rewind' on repeat about 15 times, caught up in the beauty of those songs.

Then late last year i was completely caught up in SEG, like i was listening to it almost every night, and i started to become inspired to be in a band again, after about 3 years. Within a month i bumped into somebody i'd not seen for a long while (like 5 years) and we formed my current band.

The Cardigans always seemed to have been there at certain times.

На сайте наших любимых шведов можно писать на родном языке!!! А мы тут выделываемся;) по-английски стараемся;))) Аня, мир! А Постшуман (я правильно произношу?) тоже из наших, славянка;)

Dear Mishto!
Yes, I'd rather like reading about endless silly things like what we had for lunch instead of reading, pointlessly (?), about somebody who says his opinion on ENDLESS nightmares (like war, america-europe, money, crap, fennels..).

I don't trust a lot when people debate on the internet, it's too easy to speak here.
I like to think about the internet as a place where people can share artistic ideas, or create unions on something.

Arguing and saying "I think this about this" verse "I think that about that" doesn't go far, at least for me.

I do the same, yes!
But about music bands and their crappiness... But everybody could see that when somebody told me a good "human point" against my opinions, I shut up, cause I realize I was wrong.

Religious (madly religious) people will never say so easily "yeah, your opinion is right, I'll have to shut up". They will invent something like "I respect your opinion", just to don't say to you "I think your ideas are shit, cause against mine".

My next dreamy thread: "do you love rabbits eating lots of green things and making crunchy sounds"?

But, c'mon! I hope some of you know what I meant... :D

Of course we do! But I must admit that it's very interesting how easy it is to come to contradiction with your own words. A bit of logical analysis of our statements every now and then can't hurt! :)

Ok, I'll stop being offtopic now. ;)

yeah.but not everything is about you. arguing on the internet is what some of us do 80% of our day at work cuz there's not enough actual job to keep us busy......debating art and music is limited cuz you can say it's subjective....but arguing about the boneheadedness of politics and religion........you have such wide ranges of sources to pull from and different directions to take it in. Sort of like what i'm attempting to do right now......it has nothing to do with whether or not i care about the subject.........but without arguments on message boards they would refresh so infrequently.
