Autumn is my favourite season. It's a shame that it's too short... and followed by winter.

I love sunny autumn days especially if they are neither hot nor cold but just about right!

That's S.A.D.
I mean it's called Seasonal Affective Disorder, I've never heard of Kamos...
Ah the lack of sunlight after summer. Then there's daylight savings time so it gets darker an hour earlier.
Arrggh!!!

No, these aren't my photos. I found them with Google but they are from my country so you can see what kind of autumns we have. I love the autumn sun.

kaamos is the time when it starts getting darker to the winter solstice just before christmas. it can also mean the winter solstice (polar night) it self.

Today I listened to "Behind blue eyes" by "Limp Bizkit". I know this page belongs to "The Cardigans" but if we write about life in general...This song is so sad and even agressive, this song is full of autumn...Especially I like the start of "Behind blue eyes". First accords are so deep...But I don`t remember if it`s Ves Borland plays or their next guitarist...

The only thing I don't like about autumn is that school (Uni) starts again. and that it is a little step towards the cold days, too..
But I like sooo much its colours, its atmosphere, its smell :)

Why don't you get a hobby that takes place during this time of year, then maybe you won't be so bored.

I'm so jealous you have autumm/fall people. It's Spring here, and it's gonna get hotter and I can't stand it. The Summer is even more horrible. I'm so gonna miss these grey rainy days!

Ooklathemok, this answer is for you. I`ve got many captivating hobbies and more, I`ve got interesting work, but, maybe, you didn`t understand this topic…I wrote about our Russian autumn in Moscow, here`s really grey and boring. I wrote only about our weather and not about my spirit. By the way, communicate is not the same to get in touch with somebody. Have you ever notice that? When your words can`t reach the interlocutor…or the main idea of your sentence can be awry. Be awry with…phone, computer, letter, breath, intonation, glance! I`m keen on rhetoric and want to understand inner, deep processes in our psychology. I think people`re either simple and difficult inhabitants of the Earth. Yes, this fact`s very casual…But it happens with a lot of us every day. When we try to explain something others often don`t see what we mean. Why? Because of non-verbal signes? I think you could know it. For instance, can the language barrier spoil the good spirit and patience?

I feel that too.
(I can speak to you as long as you stay in Russia)
Some aggressivity, yes. And something warm in the voice.

What can you do during autumn ?
Read ?
You can discover some old books here for free. This is the internet link of the french national library. Most texts are in French (if you want to practice), some are in Latin, a few in Italian or English. For other languages, it is more rare.
The link
Press on the tab "recherche" at the top of the screen, then you can tell what you are searching for.

For Valeria.
The Atlas of Flamsteed in two links
With text and some decorations

High-resolution pictures of the sky from the atlas
To watch the high-resolution pictures, save them on your computer. In Internet Explorer, you can not zoom the pictures to see the details.

Wow, thanks! This atlas is cool, that`s what I like! Beautiful illustrations! By the way, I learned French for 3,5 years but it was many years ago (since 1994 up to 1997). I studied in first classes and the language was awful then. Our tecaher was terrible. And in 1997 we started to learn English...Unfortunately, I badly know French...

Our tecaher was terrible
Terrible is a French word.
It has two meanings. Nasty or really wonderful. I suppose it was the second one.
I just hope he had some brown eyes, because you don't really need light eyes in Russia.

Unfortunately, I badly know French...
I don't know what you can do with French today. Who speaks French ? Muslim countries, and black countries. Muslim taught us mathematics and cartography (we knew some branches of mathematics, but not the same as they did), and black people how to get rid of the police. Just say something very stupid to the policemen (when you say something clever, they don't like it, because you can be dangerous).

How gloomy prognose for your language...Is French dying? Or maybe, French`ll be alive again in the next century? For instance, Russian wasn`t be fashionable language in 19th century when Pushkin and Lermontov lived! French was the most important and "glamour" language then...As philologist in the past, I can say that language is alive organism, which can be born and which can die. I remember these words when read F. de Sossure, French philologist.
