Scientists knew that 10 years ago. It was obvious.
Why didn't we speak more loudly (I say we, because I worked in this field for one year) ?
Several reasons.
I will give a weight for each.
1 - We were angry against some American trusts (who were paying some scientists to write papers against this theory).
25% in my decision to say nothing.
2 - It was interesting to have a real test. Of course, global warming is bad for some coastal areas. This point is obvious, and for animals at polar latitudes.
For the rest of the world, it is difficult to give an answer. It will bad in some places, and good in others. Why good ? Because crops will grow faster with more heat (and maybe more rains in some places).
10% in my decision.
Why so little ? I think we could use computer simulation for this part.
3 - It was interesting to have a real test (again). With global warming, the Gull Stream is slowing down. We were not sure about this fact.
Has it already start ? Difficult to say. This year is colder in Europe and northern USA, so maybe.
Computer simulation was nearly impossible for this question.
25% in my decision.
We should put more instruments inside the Atlantic ocean, to measure the changes... This is an urgency.
4 - Political reasons. Get some respect from some not-advanced countries which have no respect for science.
15% in my decision.
5 - Political reasons. Create more solidarity in this world.
If life is going better in some countries, and worse in others, people will try to move from one country to another.
I saw Chernobyl, I saw that the government didn't move enough population away from the plant. Mainly in Bielorussia, and a bit in Ukraine. Why Bielorussia ? Because their land was contaminated by the radioactive clouds. And that remains a big problem today.
If no country accepts to help Bielorussia, then I hope that global warming will create more problems. Learning solidarity can cost a high price.
25% in my decision.
6 - Test some new science to fight against global warming.
Stupid. Why now ? We have much science already.
If we want to study the weather, with big changes, we must first create some solidarity, so first create the point 5.
2 % in my decision.
The total of weights is 102%.
If you like perfection, take your computer, and divide each weight by 1.02... |

Maybe you don't trust me.
Of course, we could build a physical model, and then make long calculations with computers.
Our computers were slow, but we could write frightening papers and frighten the French government and gets more money and better computers.
Then we get a result with the computers...
But.
If the physical model is false ? The result is useless :( It could be correct for a very small global warming, and false for a normal-large global warming... |

I heard yesterday on tv that scientist cannot say for sure about global warming because they usually investigate places where people live and th etempereture is always higher than in other places. Also they are not taking to acount the situation in desert and in the places in the oceans where it is hard to get. But I would like to have a bit of global warming in Ukraine. It looks like North Pole over few lsat years. Currently I am really freezing and afraid that I can not survive during the winter. But it would be bad if somewhere people dtruggle because of too much warmth. ;( |

Depends what you call "say for sure".
We can say that, globally, the earth will get warmer. Maybe 2 degrees in summer.
For one given country, it is very difficult to tell. Some may go colder, even in summer, and some may go 10 degrees warmer.
Also they are not taking to acount the situation in desert and in the places in the oceans where it is hard to get.
Nasty fishes. They don't tell what they feel :(

So you need the warmth of a boy.
Even a gay boy, just for the physical warmth, you don't need to have sex.
Why a boy ? Because boys are heavier, so they have more warmth inside.
Don't take someone too old. When men grow older, the body works worst and worst. |

Like "The Beatles" sang, "...life is very short and there is no time for fighting and fussing, my friend..." And I think our life is too short, actually. Many thousands ago there were frost, heat, frost and heat again...We can`t observe all natural phenomenons during people`s little life and can`t say exactly that global warming is irregular process. Yes, it can be dangerous sometimes but what can we do against nature?! But, frankly speaking, it depends on our culture, our civilization. People do real harm to our own planet with cars, buses, gasoline, chemical garbages, acid rains…It`s awful. As for me, I love all these tender trees with green leaves, all this juicy grass. The Earth can`t defend herself but the planet can be violent to those, who pollutes and spoils her face. I`m sure it`s very important ecological problem. |
