Hey!

No news on an US release yet so I suggest you get it on amazon.com or .co.uk or maybe the canadian amazon? Online is nice, I use it too frequently.. ;.-)

Hola

Im a Mexican fan and like a lot of Mexican fans I have a doubt about what The Cardigans feels from Mexico. When you came with the First Band on the moon Tour some people said that the concert wasn`t good (of course not fans of the band) but the real fans enjoy that show very much, My question is: Are You anger with Us? coz We were not in your latest tours. I hope to see you soon.
By the way Which is the real Nina`s haircolor?

Fernando, From Mexico
radioker, 2005-11-27 05:55:21
Hey Fernando!

No we are not angry at you Mexican fans, it´s just hasn´t been a chance or a decent offer to come play in Mexico city again. We don´t deal with the touring business, that´s the work for agents and managers and they haven´t found a way to play there in a economical way I guess.

We all hope to come back next year for sure! Nina is quite close to her natural colour now, medium brown.

Hi Mags, sorry no question, just a suggestion...
Hope you get this in time, but I thought that I would recommend a gig to you... the Posies are playing at the KB Halle in your very own Malmo tomorrow night!!! 25th Nov

I'm sure you've heard of them, they are an absolutely amazing live band, and just seem to love life and good time rock and roll.

Go check them out if you have the time!

By the way, my lovely Swedish girlfriend has booked a room in the Mayfair in Malmo, so I shall certainly try out your bar and reataurant recommendations,

cheers!

Hey!

Yeah I might swing by KB tomorrow, KB hallen is actually in Copenhagen, a little confusing. Anyway, KB= Kulturbolaget is just 5 minutes away and I always get in for free! ;-)

Good luck with the dining, try Tempo bar, our fave hangout!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-24 21:11:24
Is it true thats there is a travel agent in Malmö called Hasses Bögresor?
Cardamomm, 2005-11-24 20:18:07
ha ha that would be awesome! :-) I have no idea, guess there is a market for everyone? ;-)

MagnusS, 2005-11-24 21:09:35
Hey Cardigans!

I just wanted to tell you how much I like the band, even though I'm probably never going to see you live, cause I live in a small country in South America, that is Uruguay.
But thanks anyway for making such amazing music, and being like you are. Are there some South American fans? Or are you planning to ever come to South America?
Thanks, and much love!
ImStricken, 2005-11-23 20:47:51
How´s life in Montevideo?
We hope to come play Buenos Aires next year, it´s not so far for you, just across Rio de la Plata!

I am sorry you missed the chance to World Cup in Germany next year. Life sucks sometimes.

Oh yes, I am a patience of a saint! No, really somedays I just skip the Q&A´s cause I don´t feel like it. I still hope for the help of the other guys......... ;-)

It´s tricky to write fast songs, Peter has mentioned that many times. And we´re getting older... ;-)

hello there,
i am a young film maker and developed a lot of ideas for scenes in my most recent short film heavily thanks to the "gran turismo" soundtrack. this is a short film i'd like to put in film festivals, but i'd like to use the music i originally envisioned with it. who do i ask for permisson to use some of the tracks from the "gran turismo" soundtrack? thanks for your time,

Hey!

Why don´t you contact David Mortimer-Hawkins at Stockholm records?
He might be able to help you out, legal wise and all. Go to www.stockholmrecords.com and scroll down to David!

Good luck

Hi Mags;

This is not really a question, just wanted to say how much I appreciate you beeing so open about your mental problems in the past. I have experienced panic attacks thru my whole life, the first one I remember was when I was six. It means a lot when artists and such are open about these things, a lot more that you might think.

Cardamomm
Cardamomm, 2005-11-24 17:54:29
Thanks, it´s not that big deal once you´re open about it. The chance to get support from your friends is greater then. The band has been good to me!

take care

magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-24 19:42:08
Hey Mags, yesterday watching your dvd saw Nina recording with a strange mic with a black rubber-foam tap on the top of the mic. She says you, that is a neumann 1066, i dont know if your guys were joking ;). I dont remember the existence this model neumann. Its probably an old vintage one? If you know the real name id like to know it indeed.

Gracias tio grande!!!
DiegoCastano, 2005-11-24 18:15:34
I have no idea, I know nothing about microphones. But I am sure it´s a vintage one, we like to keep the old stuff you know. Or maybe she´s just making it up?

MagnusS, 2005-11-24 19:40:46
Hi,
It's me again. Ive checked with Universal Poland and they confirmed you were going to Poland next week. But didn't and still don't give any details about your visit.

I believe you can tell more. When or even whereabouts in Poland are you going to appear?
:-D
can't wait and hope will be free that day
themagicstick, 2005-11-24 19:12:52
Hey!

I still don´t know anything about the Polish promo plans, sorry.
I will write something once I know... But we´ll arrive on monday!

MagnusS, 2005-11-24 19:39:33

i want to say thank you for that wonderful concert in stuttgart two years ago.it is a nice place! felt sorry that so less people showed up.you deserve more.and some of you guys in the band were pretty stoned, huh?
see you next year
philippo, 2005-11-18 13:12:56
Noone in the band use drugs, well except drinking of course.
The Stuttgart venue was real beautiful, but as you say, not too many people
around.

Hi Magnus!
My question: Which are your favourite AC/DC songs? And those of Peter?
And the others, they really don't like these Aussies?
z.
zzyy, 2005-11-23 17:53:45
Peter and I are very found of Walk all over you! And Whole lotta Rosie of course!
All of us like the Aussies, they have no choice! ;-)

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 19:00:19
Okay, I will not ask when the tour starts but I will ask when you guys are coming to Sweden again. Love your music and saw you last time you were in Sweden, and I'm dying to see you guys again.

That´s only a good thing, I just checked with Dr Phil and he says that it´s nice to stick to something soothing. As long as you won´t get addicted to it, like candy. ;-)

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 12:03:18
Mags!

I've heard you refer to a time when you experienced panic attacks. Ever hear of this other guy (Tony Soprano) who made panic attacks cool again? Other all-time best shows I'm wondering if you watch: Nip/Tuck, Deadwood, Oz, Cowboy Bebop. TV is my favourite remedy for panic attacks (as well as Cardigans music). Feel free to mention any other shows you watch. also, if you take my word on any of these shows let it be Cowboy Bebop (you can order it online); world-renowned award-winning music composer Yoko Kanno (along with band The Seatbelts) has redefined the word 'music' for me and all others who've experienced her brilliance through this show... if you're looking for a new, totally unique, mind-blowing source of musical inspiration this is the place. on second thought prioritize getting the cowboy bebop soundtrack box set even higher than the actual show (but the show is just as revolutionary).

Dying to see you here in the NY to Canada area,
Zan
lax80684, 2005-11-23 02:33:56
Yeah, that scene where Tony is getting his panic attack at home and Tinderstick´s Tiny tears is on, that´s a classic. Not that panic attacks are very fun to experience but it´s somehow nice to see it on screen.

I just got through the Deadwood dvd set, on my way through Lost right now. I have been addicted to HBO box sets this fall, Larry David (who I hate but still have to watch), SFU (which I love). I tried Carnivale but it didn´t really get to me.
I will check that Cowboy bebop thing out, haven´t heard of it actually.
Thanks for the tip!

MagnusS, 2005-11-23 12:01:30
dear cardigans,

two nights ago at the silk city lounge, the dj started off a blazing three song set with 'lovefool'. i was wondering, what is it like to be responsible for the single most essential song in pop history? also, can you please send me one vinyl copy of everything you've ever released? thanks in advance.

-jeffrey ziga
phila, pa
dapper, 2005-11-22 14:38:17
I think there are more essential songs in pop history than Lovefool, at leats I hope that´s the case. Beatles made some tunes for one.
I can´t send you the vinyls, you have to look for them yourself! ;-)

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 11:58:00
hey mags, its diego! Only a question; who sings "i need some..." on the DVD photo demo? It sings like Peter but i dont know so. The song is modified with a pro tools atune or recorded again by all instruments?

Gracias amigo del norte!!!
DiegoCastano, 2005-11-22 14:06:26
It is Peter who sings. Maybe he has pitched his voice to make it fit Nina´s vocal range? I can´t remember. He made this demo in his homestudios.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 11:56:23
Hey
before you put your pants on can you tell me who is Charlie from the song titled Traveling with Charlie. Real person or fictional character??

Thanks : D
Vrak, 2005-11-22 16:09:35
Charlie is very fictional, I stole his name from the John Steinbeck book Travels with Charly (who´s a dog) and I think we stole his persona from Nancy Sinatra´s Last of the secret agents. Easy as that!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 11:54:58
Hello i read some where on eof you guys were in the year 1978............so that means you made your first major album when you were like 16?,...........that's crazy, it makes me feel depressed! hahahah
i am 15 and what do i have to show for it!

but how did you guys get off to such a good start?
dannyd, 2005-11-22 22:59:48
Peter and Nina was born in 1974 so they were 4 then! ;-)
We started in 92 and made our first album in 94, so you got 5 more years to
work on!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 11:52:13
Hej!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-23 11:50:34
Thank you for this page and the chance to contact you. I've been totally immersed in your beautiful music these days. From the first album to this last you haven't lost this unique sense of mixed optimism, sadness and even a bit of something sinister lurking from behind.

The way I see it from Belgrade, my home, your fame washed our shores in three waves...with the first 2 albums, then with Gran Turismo and finally with S.E. Gravity. You were huge here 8-9 years ago, today you are "just" great in terms of popularity. In terms of quality, in my opinion you are the most talented group of people to hit the stage in the last 20 years worldwide. I don't know who to blame for not making you the biggest living stars...how it still hasn't happened is beyond me.

Of course my question is if there is any chance of seeing you here, in Belgrade. And also, have you had any recent offers to make some music for a movie? yes or no will suffice...

Give my regards to your agents, tell them they will be sorry if they don't include Belgrade (or at least Budapest, Zagreb or Sofia) in your next tour.

All the best to you all, and for Nina a special kiss on her killing dimples.
sinco, 2005-11-18 20:59:28
Thanks for your mail, you are right about everything!
None of us has been in Zagreb so a show there would be perfect!
No high hopes but we will try,ok?

Lasse
Lasse, 2005-11-22 21:01:08
I don't relly have a question here, I just wanted to say you guys have improved my social life. I recently played Daughters for my English class when we had to bring in a song to play for the class that exhibited the poetry of Rock music, and all the kids have been asking me who they band is. Don't be suprised to find out you have a big fan base in a town of 1500 people in Virginia.

Thanks for your music. I will be sure to come and see you guys next time you come to the States.

David.
Tigermyfriend, 2005-11-20 02:05:04
Hey David!

That´s cool man! Now play some old school reggae to the kids and teach them about soul rebels and stuff! :-) Not sure if the grammar was of any importance in the lyrics of Burning Spear, but try it! Might teach the kids a lesson?

Good luck and send our love to your kids!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-11-21 17:36:21
Hey!

I like to write songs, and I play the piano. Do you songwriters have any advice on how to use the piano as a tool to find melodies? I've tried, but I just can't get it right. "I've gotta get it right"
The new record is really good, and I've got some of the songs on my mind. In a positive way, I love to sing them all day =)
And I want to know why you guys did PLAYBACK on the Nordic Music Awards. I'd really looking forward for a live performance, but didn't get it. A little dissapointed. If i'd want to hear the song as it is on the record, I'd put on the record. But always a pleasure to see you guys on stage. Miming or not ;P But I wouldn't believe this band would have anything to worry about live?

Your brilliant
Love you

Chris
chrismail, 2005-11-20 02:53:20
All artists performed playback except Timbuktu I think, it´s an easy solution for everyone if you´re going to have ten bands on one stage. Still pretty boring for us and you guys.

I think Peter´s method of songwriting is just humming along some melodies and then find the chords to it. I made my Righteous boy album in totally different method, but see how that went.. ;-) It´s hard to come up with songs, but piano is a good instrument to work with. I know Peter also de-tunes his guitar to fool himself not to be too smart, just play along with a different tuning and then find some interesting chord change. It´s hard to do that on a piano, maybe play blindfolded?
