Hi, how did you come te be one of the best bands ever? I mean, what was the think that have pushed you till here?
patog, 2005-12-03 00:58:09
Ah don´t know, money, euro bonus points on SAS flights, ladies, free booze?
Well, part from these obvious things I think Peter and I shared a dream back in the days and since then it´s just been rolling. Though not smoothly all the time.
I´ve realized that it´s hard to be the flavour of the month for 13 years but I think we coped that by not beeing very trendy at any time. Apart from 6 months in the US back in 97.... ;-)

We know that we do something good together so we try to value that as much as possible even at the times when recordsales go down and so on.

Next year we´ll tour and hopefully we´ll pull out a great live set, that´w when things turn fun for me. I am not too keen on studio work, too much waiting.

Hey, hey!!!, spanish power again,
I have read a question about an unplugged album, it would be perfect.

I have been able to watch your single on tv, but:
which is your favourite video?, and have you made a christmas song?.

nice weekend from spain, we are starting the christmas parties!!!
raulcom, 2005-12-03 19:00:13
Hola!

No canciones de navidad so far, it´s a very risky business to do christmas songs.
I am not a big Christmas fan either so...
My fave video is Hurt by Johnny Cash. Among ours, Hanging around maybe?

MagnusS, 2005-12-03 20:02:41
Ey Mags!
Whats your favourite song of The Concretes, and what do you think about these nice band!...
And you know them personally???

enrique
enrike, 2005-12-03 17:08:38
Yeah I know them, they´re sweet people! Daniel and Ludwig also play with Marit Bergman who supported us on the Scandinavia tour two years ago. That´s how I got to know them. I love " This one´s for you", the last song on the album. But the whole record is great. Their new one will be out after New Year, haven´t heard anything yet but I am sure it will be great!

MagnusS, 2005-12-03 20:00:28
Hey Magnus,
I just read in your answer that you think your new album is PROBABLY good for driving. So, I want to make you sure it's the best for that, since I've recorded it to tape I take it out of the player only when I have to change a car (from mum's to daddy's :P). And I must add I drive at least 45 min a day - I don't listen to anything else since october!

I used to listen a lot to GT in a car, but I had to give up listening to MFG as I drive too fast anyway and I would be dead in a car accident by now for sure if I hadn't done it!
Spicer, 2005-12-03 19:07:56
I have never listened to the new album in my car, but LGBD was a great car album for sure. I would also recommend 16 horsepower (at dark) Ray Charles and Aretha when going to the beach, Lambchop when you´re tired and Elvis almost always.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-03 19:58:23
Sorry, I still haven't had a chance to buy this cd, hoping my pay-check will come any day now, but I had the chance to listen to this album, as a preview of what I may hear. Now, knowing there are lyrics included, I might just treat myself tomorrow. I mean, how could I possibly resist?! Moreover, it would be an asset for tomorrow's one-hour drive to a friend's birthday in the countryside:) This music is truly inspiring.
Thanx & Regards,
Z
Zorana, 2005-12-02 22:10:15
That´s right! You go get that album, it´s probably good for driving!

Hey Magnus, How does one become big and strong like you. Do you recommend eating all your vegetables? for you truely are a mighty gentleman. : D
Vrak, 2005-12-03 16:14:06
no you make sure you got well built parents and then it´s off from there.
I´ve been this tall since I was 16 so I am used to it. I was taller in 4.th grade
than bengt is now. Just think about that. Veggies are good for you though.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-03 17:00:58
You are in contact witch Napalm Death? NAPALM DEATH??? That made my day.

What next? Super Extra Slayer Remixes? The Entombedigans? Is there anything like that planned that we don't know about?

I would love to hear that! :)

Regards,
Markus
just_markus, 2005-12-02 20:17:47
Yeah life is funny sometimes isn´t it? Highly unexpected to have fans in Napalm Death I must say. But nice!

Hello,

First of all, congratulations for this great album. It's really good to hear you again with your new songs.

Then, I work in a sticker company in belgium and i really would like to wrap my car (mini) with pics coming from this website. But for that, I need high quality pics... So, could you help me for this.

Thanks a lot
the.mitch, 2005-12-02 19:34:38
Don´t wrap your mini in stickers, it will ruin the finish!

hej nina! ...undrar vem som har målat dig på "A Camp-omslaget"? (plus: jag älskar Good Morning Joan) yei, emma.
mjoki, 2005-12-02 18:52:42
Hej!

Våra vänner i ÅBÄKE, en designer firma i London har målat A Camp omslaget, fint va? (ÅBÄKE är ju ett fantastiskt namn på ett företag...)

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-02 19:52:28
Hello,
Though I usually avoid this type of communication with the bands I love (there is a slight dose of fear it might spoil the magic), I could not resist the new, and yet old and familiar sound of your new album.
Simply beautiful. It suits the winter's shifts of sun and snow.
Q: Is there a chance to receive, somehow, the correct Holy Love lyrics? There are some words I just can't seem to get right...and yet, I keep singing it under the shower.
Thanks.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-02 14:48:39

1-Will you make a cd just accoustic?(or unplugged:))
2-Will your next tour include Turkey again?

Thanks for the answers hope to see you newt year...
Rivaner, 2005-12-02 02:54:16
Hey

1. We don´t know
2. We don´t know... ;-)

Sorry for the lame answers ! :-)

Nina ..

Would you be kind enough to consider being interested in perhaps reading a script for a swedish short film and after that labour perhaps consider being interested in playing the female part in it?

If so, let me know,

och vid det här laget kom jag på att jag är svensk och så även ni.

Men skulle du vara intresserad av att få ett manus postat till dig och kanske läsa igenom det i alla fall?

Svara gärna via mail.

Hey Peeps! Loving the band since i first heard 'Life'. I love the songs, i love the way they are recorded. Bought the new album when it came out after seeing it in a shop.
After buying it and checking the website i realised id completely missed the Long Gone Before Daylight album. Its a sad state of affairs when an album of this quality gets overlooked the way it did and im really annoyed with myself for missing it the way i did, because im totally in love with it. Having got what, to me, are 2 new cardigans albums at the same time im rather happy at the moment. The newer album is more of a 'grower' but im enjoying it a lot too.

I just wanted to thank you for creating this great music that has enriched my life over the years. More power to you!!!

Ian
Modular1, 2005-12-01 21:53:42
Thanks Ian, well these things can happen, missing an album or two by a former fave artist. Good thing you´ve hooked up now. The new one is more of a grower for sure, so just let it take its time.

Stay well

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-02 09:00:41
Hi i hear nina likes her red wine alot LOL

So do i and vodka :-)

what do the rest of the band members drink when they are chilling out ?

And do you drink loads when you are not Touring or writing songs ?

By the way do you mainly stay in sweden ( Copenhagen ) alot with friends and family or do you travel alot and visit different cultures ??

Mark
bonou2vox, 2005-12-01 22:18:58
Hey
Copenhagen is actually Denmark, but it´s real close to our hometown Malmö, just across the huge ass bridge. Still we use that city too little, it´s one of the coolest in Europe, shame on us... It´s nice to be home after a lot of travelling, not that Malmö is the most happening place but that´s wahy it´s good. Nice provincial town in the south.

We like almost everything, as long as it´s free! :-) But I am not yet into whisky and brandy and stuff, might have to grow older first.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-02 08:59:01
Hej!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-02 08:55:16
Ok this is a really stuitped question. What is with the strange lyrics in the song and then you kissed me on the long gone before daylight alumb. I'm mean sweet love, tasty blood what's all that about. My sister thinks your vampires and you drink blood.
Topanga123, 2005-11-11 16:18:26
Yep, we´re Swedish vampires all of us! And we sacrifice women and sometimes young men to the almighty Count Dracul! He has some problems with his broadband at the moment , crap Romanian tele company and all. So we haven´t had a chat in a long time but we hope to hook up later this month.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 13:12:34
Why the title of the album "long gone before daylight"??? I know that that phrase appears in no sleep but it refers too that U took too long to come out with a new album since GT??

hugs great band!!

fede
FeDe.ar, 2005-11-21 00:35:03
I don´t know, to me it´s a very poetic and beautiful title which can mean both this and that. I always thought 03:45 was a sad song about not being able to sleep, but to Nina that´s only a good thing. To sit up and talk and perhaps share a bottle of wine, not wanting to miss out on the sunrise sort of.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 13:08:34
hm, how can i transform what i want to say into a question?

magnus, i read this beautiful article you wrote on the cure's 'disintegration', in which you said you listened a lot to it while you were working in a camp for kids. and i also read you wrote the lyrics for 'rise & shine' there as well. so...were you influenced by the cd?
(if you don't say 'yes', i guess this makes no sense at all ;)

nevermind, it's just that 'rise & shine' is my all-time favourite...

cheers!!! Annika!
-berlin-, 2005-11-14 20:21:24
I actually worked on that summer camp a few years in a row so Rise and Shine came a few years later. It´s a little inspired by an early Boo Radley´s song from their first album, no not Wake up Boo, that´s their 3.rd.

I wrote the lyrics sitting on the beach at night when the sea was storming a lot.
So I guess it wasn´t inspired by Disintegration at all...

magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 13:06:33
hei!
you're ok i suppose.
who gives the ideas for your videoclips? well, i've always admired michel gondry and his work (and roman coppola, spike jonze, roman corbijn, cunningham, jonas akerlund).
would you consider working with any of them? speccially gondry? (for me, that would be great!)

sorry for my english but my swedish is still worst!
take a lot of care.
jotave
jotave, 2005-11-18 13:47:02
Hey!

We have worked with Jonas Åkerlund on MFG video, but none of the others.
Guess they´re all very busy people, but they´re all great directors for sure.
We always get a lot of treatments for a videoshoot and then it´s up to us to decide which one to go for. I don´t like videoshoots too much so I´d rather stay home and watch sports...

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 12:59:33
Just a BIG thank you to Nina and the rest of the band for another great album it always takes a few good listens to get into a new album release. But am severely wearing out the Cd in my Car LOL.

I wanted to know why you dont seem to hit the Charts very well with your singles and your albums in the UK charts im really p****d off with the Uk Music industry for letting so much rubbish into the charts and leaving good bands out like yourselves.

You were really popular with gran turismo and was played alot on radio 1 but since you have been treated badly.

I thought Long Gone Before Daylight was a really beautiful album and so is Super Extra Gravity i hope you carry on producing Great Songs in the future.

Hope to see you on tour in the UK sometime please try and fit a tour date for birmingham.

Good luck you guys with your tour anyway.

P.S. ( Nina your gorgeous and you have a fantastic voice ;-)

Mark
bonou2vox, 2005-11-23 20:12:32
Thanks, well you know it´s hard to compete with young fresh bands with drughabits as their major asset. (spelling?)
We´ll try and come play next year, hope someone shows up!

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 12:54:16
Hey

Will there be press photos for the new album up on the site for us all to behold?

Thats all for now.
Thanks : D
Vrak, 2005-11-25 11:51:02
No idea, I can ask Sthlm records about it

magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 12:52:37
When you go on tour, what stuff must you really carry with you? I mean, apart from things like Peter's guitar collection or chandeliers for the stage, do you have any personal items you couldn't do without?

If you're missing anything for next year's tour, don't forget to ask Father Christmas to bring it this month: you've been very good this year! Incidentally, is he Norwegian, Swedish or Finnish?
karlf, 2005-12-01 12:47:52
I always bring my portable dvd player and lots of strange movies. Movies that are too depressing to watch on tour actually, but that´s what my collection is all about.
Some books, plenty of stage shirts and underwear cause washing is always a drag being on the road. Some books and my Ipod and lap top. Then you´re set for three weeks in a bus.

Santa is Swedish of course! But he travels frequently! :-)

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 12:52:03
Hey!
What's your favourite cardigans video so far?
And (if you can remember) which video (so far) has taken you the longest?
xRiotPixiex, 2005-11-26 14:53:17
I like Hanging around, FWIW a lot. The Storm was bloody cold and the older ones were...kinda lame. Haven´t seen the US Been it video in a long long time, is that any good?
All videos are made over two days or so, guess we spent most time in Cape Town doing FWIW, but the weather was so pleasant so I didn´t mind at all.

Magnus
MagnusS, 2005-12-01 12:48:15
Hi, Cardigans!

I bought "Gravity" two weeks ago, the luxury edition including the DVD. It is my first Cardigans-CD, although I have always liked your music. The new CD is insanely great, great, great music!!!! I like the songs very much, the way you perform them, the sound of the intsruments and the way Tore has produced it. Big compliments! I will definetely come to your next show. Now a short question: What kind of headphones are there pictured on the cover?

All the best to you!

Thanks Magnus,

Mitch/Napalm again here. This page keeps you very busy indeed. I admire your commitment to stayinging in touch with the fans. I am going on tour now until December 12th in Germany, Holland, Austria, with Napalm Death HateBreed, and Agnostic Front.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question, and also for sending it to Nina. I would like to send you the song weather you can play on it or not. I am excited to finally have contact with you. Best wishes with the new LP, hope to hear from you soon.

Mitch
mitchnapalm, 2005-12-01 02:27:18
Hey Mitch!

Yes it´s a bitch sometimes, since 50% of the fans ask the forbidden questions about the tour NEXT YEAR.... I wonder if they read the FAQ section in the Forum at all...

I will check with Nina again for sure!
